Abstract
The European Module we would like to submit at the ISEC 2000 Conference is an experimental teaching module concerning the educational integration of citizens with disabilities or learning difficulties. Five European countries (Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, United Kingdom) which are taking part in the project, are mainly focusing on integration policies and the comparison of methodological didactic activities. The EM has already gone through its essential stages such as research, experimentation in class, the building up of a teaching module and the evaluation of the outcomes etc. However, seven universities which are project partners, have produced a vast array of material ranging from multimedia tools (CD ROM translated into four languages, Internet discussion group, Hypermedia Data Bank, multimode programmes) to videotapes of the lectures which allow impaired students to participate.
As the ISEC 2000 is involved in the struggle to achieve "Education for All", our proposal is to provide the European Module with an international framework to favour its circulation and diffusion in terms of aims, objectives and materials. Moreover the EM will supply the field experts with vocational training for teachers and professionals in this specific field as well as people with disabilities and their families.
We are looking forward to share the experience of the EM in the framework of the ISEC meeting, to develop its implementation and exchange initiatives.
