
Abstract
The current social and educational conditions in South Africa bear challenges for the 21st century. The training programmes for teachers and psychologists must address conditions which are peculiar to this country. This paper highlights these conditions and role change of the professionals to meet these conditions. The paper further indicates how first world roles of psychologists are performed in the context of the third world. The paper concludes by discussing collaboration between traditional healers and psychologists in South Africa.
