Abstract
One of the results of the atrocities of the Sierra Leone is the emergence of a generation of newly handicapped: the psychologically handicapped - rape victims and the physically handicapped - maimed victims.
The workshop will attempt to sensitise participants as to the needs of those newly disabled boys, girls, men and women, particularly the need for training in relevant skills so that they continue to be participants in community development.
The workshop will also endeavour to highlight new areas of intervention for the blind and hearing impaired. The
workshop will begin with a 15 minute video documentary where participants will see and hear the victims themselves voice their thoughts.
