Abstract
The main focus of the study was to identify children exhibiting behaviour problems and to apply sports therapy as social skill training to such children in order to determine the effects of such treatment on the children's behaviour problem. The experimental research design was used. Forty eight children, mean age 11 -4 years ± 0.62 were assigned into experimental and control groups by sampling technique. Three instruments were used. Analysis of Covariance was used to test the null hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance, with mean scores of the dependent variables used to answer the research questions. Result indicated that treatment strategies were effective In reducing the behaviour problems of the children, in increasing their self concept, and none of the treatment strategies was superior to the other in reducing the behaviour problem and increasing the self concept. They were equally effective. Implications of the result were noted and suggestions made based on the implications.
